Golf Course

Golf: Do I need a golf cart? Yes, for this premier championship course with 27-holes of challenging, mountain golf you will need a golf cart. Designed by Joe Lee, this course has been rated one of the top 20 in Georgia.

Fitness Center & Indoor PoolFitness Center

Fitness Center: Is the Fitness Center open year round? Yes, a modern "state of the art" fitness facility, indoor racquetball/squash court, indoor pool, sauna and whirlpool. Fitness classes of all types are available to our guests. Various massage therapies are offered, including hot stone treatments.

Tennis CourtsTennis Courts

Tennis: Do they rent tennis rackets at the Tennis Shop? Yes, they do. Considered to be one of the finest complexes in the Atlanta area, the Tennis Complex consists of 10 courts, both indoor and outdoor.


Lakes: Is there swimming allowed in the lakes? Yes, only at the beach area on Lake Disharoon. Lake Disharoon is designated for seasonal swimming and recreational use only. The three lakes at Big Canoe are Lake Petit, Lake Sconti and Lake Disharoon. Closest to Petit Crest Villas is Lake Petit. Lake Sconti provides the backdrop for the Clubhouse.

Marina & Boat RentalsMarina

Marina: Can I fish off the docks at the Marina? No, fishing is permitted only in designated areas on the dam and spillway. Tucked in a cove on the shore of Lake Petit, the Marina offers rentals of pontoon boats, canoes and Jon boats. There is no boat ramp for launching available.

SwimmingWater Slide

Swimming: Is there a towel service at the pools or do I need to bring my own? Please bring your own towels, as no towel service is provided.

The Outdoor Pool Venues are open seasonally during the summer only. The Swim Club offers Lake Disharoon for swimming, canoes, paddleboats, a sandy beach, and the Rock Slide (a two-tier slide that is the spillway for the lake.) A nice in-ground, outdoor swimming pool sits beside the beach.

Located near the North Gate on Wildcat Parkway is the Wildcat Recreation Center. That Outdoor Pool Venue includes a covered pavilion, 25-yard lap pool, and a kiddie pool play area with fountains.

Hiking Trails and Parks: Can we bring our bicycles? We do not encourage you to bring bikes because of the mountainous terrain within the resort. With over 20 miles of hiking trails and various parks throughout Big Canoe, your outdoor exercise program can stay at its best or get off to a great start! Fishing: Where do I fish? Fishing is available on Lake Petit all year round. Lake Petit has a variety of fish indigenous to the area, and is stocked with trout. You can sit on the bank on one of the benches provided to fish, or boat rentals are available at Lake Petit Marina Shop.

Please obtain the Fishing and Boating Rules and Regulations at Villa #636. A state fishing license is not necessary, however, Big Canoe does require a fishing pass available at the Lake Petit Marina Shop, there is a fee required.

Whether you are fishing from the boat or from the bank, all fishermen must have the appropriate fishing pass with them.

Additionally, a Basketball Court, Soccer, Bocce Ball, Baseball Fields are also available at the Wildcat Recreation Center. For Bocce Ball Court usage please check in at the Tennis Center. Please bring your equipment. There are no fees for these amenities.
